I am pleased to enter into this group and enjoyed reading perspectives in your posts.

It is as if there is no safe place anymore. Crazy rain, crazy temps, 388 ppm- What are we to do?

My humble solution is to plant trees in the tropics where it counts the most. And do it in a way that preserves local customs and provides long term alternatives for poor people who live with the rainforest on their land. When you think of all the services trees provide locally in way of food and water and for global carbon sequestrationm it is a no brainer. The trees are indeed the lungs of our planet, mostly in the tropics like costa rica, and are indeed PROVEN to offset carbon. With all the other benefits trees provide, it is a clear solution that no one can argue against as long as monocultures are avoided. We as a human race need to grow new forest on the barren deforested la nd of our planet and help these tender trees to survive and grow big, full of pollution, CO2. And NO to monocultures I might add.

And yes, i also liked the comment that we humans, especially first worlders, are too productive and should spend time rainsing our kids etc. Well, if we do not have a planet with good air and water and sufficient web of diverse life to support us like the honey bees and trees, what will these future generations do? For your kids and your kids kids and so on... we know this and yet we talk talk talk and sit at our computers and buy plastic chinese junk.

Please help us to get out there and plant more Community Carbon Trees. It is the cost of a movie for two. Do it for anyone you love and get others to respond. We need you. I know there are a lot of solutions out there and while i encourage all and send energy to all who are dropping drops into the sea of good works, i honor and ask that you remember Community Carbon Trees Cosat Rica.
