Marie Aquilino is a professor of architectural history at the École Spéciale de l’Architecture in Paris and a specialist in contemporary urban redevelopment. Marie conducts seminars on the architect’s role in disaster prevention, mitigation, and sustainable recovery as a means of teaching students about architecture and social justice. She is currently working with the International Federation of the Red Cross to set up a working group on the reconstruction of Haiti and is associate program director of BaSiC Initiative, a collaboration of faculty and students committed to building sustainable communities.
