BiographyBenjamin Simmons is an international lawyer specializing in the interaction between environmental and economic law and policy. In addition to his overall responsibility for TEEB management and implementation, he is the head of the Trade, Policy, and Planning Unit in the Economics and Trade Branch of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). In this capacity, he is responsible for guiding the policy work for UNEP’s Green Economy Initiative and implementing UNEP’s trade program. Simmons serves as the principal UNEP representative in the World Trade Organization’s trade and environment negotiations.
