Bettina Aptheker is a professor of feminist studies at the University of California where she has taught for more than 30 years. Her course Feminism & Social Justice includes issues affecting women in the global south. Her most recent book is a memoir, "Intimate Politics: How I Grew Up Red, Fought for Free Speech and Became a Feminist Rebel" (2006).
