I manage the Buckminster Fuller Challenge and am currently helping to develop Idea Index 2.0, a repository of entries to the Challenge as well as a tool that serves to educate, network and advance and accelerate the practice of whole systems thinking to solve complex problems. My background stems from contemporary art then moves into public infrastructure via public art and capital improvement projects. I have extensive experience in community engagement strategies, implementation and facilitation related to complex consensus building. My personal design efforts have been primarily architectural, working in New Mexico on vernacular and off-grid housing experiments. Artistically, I have an affinity for the situationist and social sculpture. I'm interested in how artifacts at various scales operate in larger systems. I'm interested in how culture informs design and how that impacts the capacity to improve emergent ecological and/or technological systems. Having built for many years I'm currently incubating my own practice in the crucible that is the Buckminster Fuller community, until I'm ready to make/co-build again. Along the way I am honored to assist those projects on the planet that are trying to solve some of our most entrenched global problems.
