David's primary focus is employing the findings of positive psychology to inspire greater environmental stewardship and sustainability. He has a master's degree in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. His capstone manuscript, advised by Barbara Fredrickson and entitled, Cultivated Positive Emotions Inspire Environmentally Responsible Behaviors, is currently in peer review for publication in Ecopsychology Journal. David is a guest lecturer for undergraduate environmental psychology and graduate ecopsychology courses at Lewis & Clark College (Portland, OR), and was recently a psychology panel expert at the annual Association for Environmental Studies & Sciences conference. David is currently working with the President-Elect of the Ecological Society of America to organize and convene symposia, bringing together scholars in psychology and ecology to address human behavior and planetary stewardship. David also conducts semi-annual six week Agent of Change workshops with the Center for Earth Leadership.
