Allegra Fonda-Bonardi (冯乐然) is an American expert in urban sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) investment. She directs the DeTao Sustainable Strategies Company (DSSC) in Shanghai and specializes in high-impact project development for Chinese internet-based urban sustainability models. She has extensive experience in China as a Fulbright-Hayes scholar (Beijing) and was selected as one of 8 scholars in the US for the Compton Mentor Fellowship for original research in 2011 (Lanzhou, central China). She was also awarded the David Love Memorial Prize for her research on pesticide management in Xinjiang, western China, in 2010. She holds a masters degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an undergraduate degree (Phi Beta Kappa) from Oberlin College (USA). She speaks and writes fluently in Mandarin, English, and Italian.
