Daniel Sperling is professor of civil engineering and environmental science and policy, and founding director of the Institute of Transportation Studies at the University of California, Davis, and holds the transportation seat on the California Air Resources Board. He is author or editor of over 200 papers and reports and 12 books, has served on 13 National Academies committees, recently chaired the Future of Mobility committee of the (Davos) World Economic Forum, and testified seven times to the U.S. Congress on alternative fuels and advanced vehicle technology.
