Hans Binswanger is a development economist and freelance consultant based in South Africa. He has been a manager in the World Bank’s central Rural Development Department, as well as in the Latin America and Africa regions. He has assisted a number of countries in the development of agricultural and rural development strategies and in the design of community-driven development programs and HIV/AIDS programs.
