Dr. Joost Vervoort is Assistant Professor of Foresight and Anticipatory Governance at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at Utrecht University, and an Honorary Research Associate at the Environmental Change Institute, University of Oxford. He has a leading role in the Earth System Governance network on the theme of anticipatory governance. Recently, Joost has developed a new research direction – research on simulation gaming as an approach to participatory futures – which has resulted in the awarding of a prestigious Vidi grant from the Dutch National Science Organization (NWO).
