As the director of Sustainability Policies at the Maryland Department of Natural Resources, McGuire focuses generally on systemic policy solutions and approaches, and specifically on the green economy, ecological economics, and ecosystem services for statewide initiatives. He initiated and oversees the Maryland Genuine Progress Indicator, a complementary and more comprehensive gauge of prosperity than traditional economic metrics.
